Trick or Treat! I am way too exhausted after tricking and treating the kids in my neighborhood. Making the quickest dinner possible was in my mind, couldn’t think of anything but baking. Baked chicken after marinating it with Schezwan sauce and stir fried the veggies.

We had a late lunch buffet at Massey’s Fine Indian Cuisine, we ate so well that we didn’t feel a bit hungry at night so we skipped dinner.

If i have to put my thinking cap on to decide what to make for dinner on a Friday night, I would rather settle down on noodles or pasta. Friday nights are to chill not to think! This explains why I made noodles for dinner.

It’s not yet winter but it has started to feel like so. For dinner, baked chicken legs after marinating them in yogurt and Indian spices on a bed of carrot and celery. After having this I had a sweet craving and so made mango pudding as well.

I was feeling little lazy today and the freezing weather made me lazier in the evening. I couldn’t even move from my couch to make dinner, finally with much effort I made this veggie pasta. When I am lazy, I scream for pasta.

I had a lovely Monday as I wasn’t hit by Monday blues- too weird :P . For dinner, I made totally unique and different dishes that I’ve never tried before. Made Chicken Normandy- a French dish, Polenta- an Italian dish and Sesame Potato Salad in yogurt sauce totally my way. It was such a delicious dinner.

A beautiful Sunday has come to an end. It was very sunny today and I grilled corn this evening. For dinner, made taco chicken and cornmeal crepes.

Couldn’t ignore hubby’s request and made ground beef nachos for him. And Yes, I fried hot dogs, I never thought that I would make this ever. I surprised myself!

I have around 10 lbs of apple merrily sitting in the refrigerator that I had picked from the Orchard farm. Besides eating them as it is I haven’t tried anything, hence for dinner I wanted to make something with apples. Without much thoughts, I made apple couscous and my house started to smell like biryani. I added mint, garam masala and ghee which made all the difference. Mesmerized by the aroma I enjoyed a huge plate of this simple delicious dinner.

This soup helped me to sweat out the flu. I used the Tom yum kung paste for making this, it’s so aromatic and flavorful. I added mushroom, tomato and rice noodles to the soup. I love the hot and sour taste of this soup.

Sick day! For dinner, had canned clam chowder.


Day 290 – Chicken-Pepper Masala and Cornmeal Crepes

Week just started and I am already feeling exhausted. For dinner, made Chicken-Pepper masala using a store bought kadai masala mix. I tried making gluten free crepes with corn meal and rice flour, it came out pretty good even though it was slightly crispy.

Today I had a craving for beef and I succumbed to it for dinner. When it comes to beef, Kerala style beef roast is my favorite dish.Kerala style beef roast and Palaada was my dinner.

Had some work tonight so hubby took over the kitchen and as usual made his favorite dishes: Chicken and mashed potatoes. I am impressed that he’s trying different variations of mashed potatoes each time he makes it, this time he added cheddar cheese to the mashed potatoes and I loved it.

Yay Friday! For dinner, made chicken in green pepper sauce and served with Puttu.

I was busy in the evening, so grabbed a quick dinner, had shawarma.

It started as a crazy day today and ended crazy too, so no complains at least it was consistent. For dinner, made a really delicious dish. Pan fried the chicken and poured creamy mustard sauce over it, served it potato stir fry. It was easy to make and delicious.

CN Tower: World’s Tallest Tower!

Day 285 - Dinner at the 360 Restaurant at CN Tower

We had an amazing Thanksgiving dinner with our friends @ 360 The Restaurant at the CN tower. CN tower is the world’s tallest tower.

The restaurant features amazing food combined with a magnificent revolving panoramic view of Toronto more than 351 meters below.

Enjoying the long weekend. For dinner, hubby made his favorite carrot chicken. This is one of the dishes we make often, every time we make it, it tastes more delicious. This time we added green pepper to the chicken, this one ingredient made a huge difference towards the taste of this dish and it was finger licking good.

What an amazing day it was! It’s october and the temperature was 27 degrees C. We went apple picking and picked 10 lbs of apple, I am getting ready to slip into an apple coma. For dinner, made Chicken Mushroom Stir fry and served it on lettuce.

Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • Oil- 1 tbsp
  • Chicken, boneless cubed- 1 lb
  • Onion, chopped- 1
  • Mushroom, sliced- 1 packet
  • Green Pepper, diced- 1
  • Sambal Oelek- 1 tsp
  • Soy Sauce- 3 tbsp
  • Green onions, chopped- 2 stalks
  • Cilantro, chopped- 2 handful
  • Salt- very little

Preparation:

  1. Heat a wok, add oil, add onion and little salt, saute for 2 minutes.
  2. Add chicken, cover and cook till chicken is almost done.
  3. Add, green pepper and mushrooms to it, cook till veggies are done.
  4. Add soy sauce and sambal oelek, combine and stir fry.
  5. Finally, add green onions and cilantro, stir fry for a minute.
  6. Remove from heat and serve on lettuce or any greens.
